The Ultimate Creamy Baked Stuffed Shells Recipe

by Nicole Johnson | Aug 10, 2026 | Creamy Baked Dish

When the days are chilly and you’re craving something warm and satisfying, this baked stuffed shells recipe delivers pure comfort. Creamy, cheesy, and packed with flavor, it’s a crowd-pleasing dish perfect for cozy family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

20 jumbo pasta shells
2 cups ricotta cheese
1 cup shredded white cheddar
1 cup shredded mozzarella
2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
1 egg
2 cups marinara sauce
Salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste

Instructions

Cook the pasta shells according to package directions. Drain and let them cool slightly so they’re easy to handle.

In a large bowl, combine ricotta, white cheddar, mozzarella, chopped spinach, egg, and seasonings. Mix until smooth and well blended.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce evenly across the bottom of a baking dish.

Spoon the cheese mixture generously into each shell, then arrange the shells in the baking dish.

Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the shells and sprinkle extra cheese on top if desired.

Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Tips for Best Results

Use fresh spinach for a bright flavor. If using frozen spinach, thaw completely and squeeze out excess moisture before mixing.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a subtle kick.

Let the dish rest for 5–10 minutes after baking to help the filling set.

Serve with warm garlic bread and a crisp green salad for a complete meal.

This hearty baked stuffed shells recipe is creamy, flavorful, and guaranteed to become a seasonal favorite.
